Anta's 7000th store locates in Suzhou

Anta recently celebrated the opening of its Suzhou Guanqian Street store, marking a significant milestone as the brand surpassed 7,000 stores nationwide. This achievement solidifies Anta’s position as the only domestic sports brand to reach such a scale in the retail channel. The pace of expansion has been impressive—since May last year, the company has opened an average of 2.5 new stores per day. The journey to 7,000 stores began in May 2009 when the 6,000th store opened in Guangzhou. Just 13 months later, the number crossed the 7,000 threshold, showing rapid growth and strategic expansion. In addition to opening new locations, Anta has also focused on upgrading existing stores to enhance their appearance and customer experience. Since becoming an official partner of the Chinese Olympic Committee in 2009, Anta has gained access to major events like the Vancouver Winter Olympics, the Guangzhou Asian Games, and the London Olympics. This partnership has played a key role in boosting the brand's visibility and driving its retail expansion. Zhang Tao, Vice President of Anta, highlighted that the strong channel presence reflects the brand's growing market foundation and improved distribution network. He emphasized that this expansion is driven by increasing consumer recognition and demand for Anta products. It’s worth noting that the 7,000-store figure does not include Anta Kids and Anta Sports Life stores. Including these, the total exceeds 7,162, with 6,591 kids’ stores, 228 lifestyle stores, and 343 sports life stores as of late 2009. This shows continued momentum in the brand’s development. Zhang also mentioned that 2010 is a big year for sports, with multiple international events taking place. He believes this will boost the overall sporting goods market and that Anta is well-positioned to benefit from it. So far, the company has completed two-thirds of its planned store openings for the year, and more expansions are expected to maintain its leadership in the mass market.
